Dyckman Farmhouse

Took the subway all the way up to 207th Street to see the Dyckman Farmhouse, built in Dutch colonial style in 1784, now one of the oldest remaining buildings in Manhattan. When ist was built, it was surrounded by ample farmland. Now it is nestled in a neighborhood of red brick appartment buildings. The contrast between the architectural styles is extreme, making the Farmhouse look misplaced and unreal.
